Swing Theory - Bend and Extend

Here's a look at Tiger's swing in super slowmotion.

Amongst all the incredible details of his movement, have a look at how little he moves his hands and wrists through the swing and how his right arm straightens and swings around the body on the downswing, aided by the folding of his left arm.

It's easy to talk of his incredible turn and the unwinding of the hips on the downswing, but what's happening is that his hips are unwinding because his right arm wants to smash down onto and through the ball. His right arm does not straighten because his hips unwind, neither did Ben Hogan's, nor anyone else you want to mention. The hips unwind because his body wants desperately to get out of the way of the arms.

The key in your swing is to find that one thing that makes everythig else happen naturally and correctly.

Pause the video on 45 seconds and you'll see the position all amateurs with, let's face it, limited turning ability, should aspire to.

Bend and Extend the right arm. Try it. And if it doesn't work, come to me, I'll be happy to explain it.

-------------

Pruebalo. Si no funciona, sera un placer explicartelo bien.
